PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

•    Due to the growth of the firm and an ever-changing regulatory environment, we are looking for a proactive, solutions-focused individual with a keen eye for detail to join our Onboarding Conflicts team as a Senior Conflicts Analyst.
•    As a more senior analyst within the Onboarding Conflicts team, you will ensure that the firm complies with its regulatory obligations by managing and mitigating risk. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive, end-to-end conflict checks on complex and high-risk matters, supporting the firm's global operation and wider risk management framework
THE TEAM 
•    The Onboarding team forms part of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Directorate and is based across the Firm's Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dubai offices. 
•    The team delivers high quality advice/guidance to the Firm across all aspects of conflict checking, identifying legal, commercial and contractual conflict issues including research, investigation and advice in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority ('SRA') Code of Conduct. The team also deals with general client and matter inception queries which includes the implementation of Information Barriers, some elements of matter management and engagement letter processing. The team works closely with stakeholders across the firm, as well as with other teams within the wider Compliance and Onboarding function, to support effective risk management and client matter inception.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE

Responsibilities include: 
•    Carrying out full end-to-end conflict checks on complex and high-risk matters, ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2019, Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and firm policies. 
•    Analysing confidential records and other supporting documentation to assess relevance, materiality and risk, and supporting decision-making on complex matters. 
•    Escalating particularly complex or sensitive conflict issues to Senior colleagues or Head of Conflicts as appropriate, collaborating to resolve matters efficiently and in accordance with firm policies. 
•    Acting as a point of escalation for technical queries from junior analysts and other colleagues, offering expert advice and support. 
•    Providing additional support to the Conflicts Team Leaders as needed, assisting with complex queries, workflow management and ad hoc tasks. 
•    Supporting the wider team by conducting quality assurance audits of conflict search results, providing comprehensive feedback and raising any issues with the Head of Conflicts. 
•    Processing queries received into the team's inbox, including the creation and maintenance of Information Barriers, and other ad hoc tasks. 

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

•    Experience of working in a conflict's role within a law firm, including strong experience of conflict checking and client onboarding on complex, high-risk or sensitive matters. 
•    Strong working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct 2019, Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and firm policies and procedures relating to conflicts and client matter inception. 
•    Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to review conflicts and supporting documentation thoroughly, identify key issues and make informed decisions based on sound judgment. 
•    The confidence and judgement to assess risk appropriately, identify when escalation is required, and manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. 
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build rapport across the firm, provide clear and practical guidance, support junior colleagues on technical matters, and use Microsoft Office effectively; experience of Intapp is desirable.
