PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- We are currently seeking an advisory (non-contentious) lawyer to support the team's ongoing growth in our public procurement team.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
To be successful in this role, what are the:
- Advise public authorities, utilities and their contracting partners on a broad range of procurement matters, with appropriate supervision, including direct awards, contract modifications and procurement strategy.
- Draft and review procurement documentation, including notices, selection questionnaires, invitations to tender and related contractual documentation.
- Support clients in the design and delivery of procurement processes, helping to identify and resolve legal and commercial issues as they arise.
- Assist bidders throughout procurement exercises, providing practical advice on tender submissions and responding to procurement-related queries.
- Work alongside colleagues in our disputes team to support procurement challenges, including assisting with the assessment of claims and the preparation of key documents.
- Contribute procurement expertise to multi-disciplinary projects led by colleagues across our IT, outsourcing, transport, utilities, construction, real estate and defence practices.
- Build strong client relationships through day-to-day matters and contribute to business development activities appropriate to your level of experience, including client updates, articles, training and networking opportunities.
- Take ownership of your own development, building technical expertise and increasing responsibility as your experience grows.
AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 1–5 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience of, or a genuine interest in, public procurement and/or utilities procurement law gained within a regional, national or international law firm.
- A desire to develop specialist expertise in procurement law and the sectors in which our clients operate.
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A proactive approach to managing your workload and delivering high-quality work to clients.
- A strong client-service ethos, commercial awareness and a willingness to contribute to the continued success of the team.
