The Team

The team combines exceptional transactional experience from magic circle and other top tier practices.
You will be working alongside Daniel Woolston, Simon Pollock, Liam Diggins and Farhod Moghadam (Partners) as well as a wider team of LDs, MA's and Associates.
We advise across all major real estate sub sectors on complex, cross border and domestic transactions for clients including Ares, Angelo Gordon, Aviva, Battersea Power Station, British Land, Federated Hermes, Greystar, Patron, Pension Insurance Corporation, Realty Income and Royal London Asset Management. Our client base includes private equity real estate funds, institutional asset managers, developers, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, large pension funds, REITs and financial institutions, all of whom rely on us for imaginative, commercially focused advice on their indirect real estate projects.

As an associate in our team, your role would include:
- Advising on all aspects of the structuring, establishment, operation, restructuring and exit of joint ventures and other indirect real estate investment structures (including corporates, partnerships and JPUTs).
- Woking on complex corporate M&A transactions in the real estate sector, including cross border deals and portfolio transactions.
- Acting as a point of contact for a wide range of clients, including private equity real estate managers, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, REITs and developers/operators, providing clear strategic advice and managing key relationships.
- Driving transactions forward: taking day to day responsibility for matter conduct, managing risk, project managing multi disciplinary teams and coordinating input from fee earners in tax, finance, real estate and other relevant disciplines.

- Contributing to the development of the Real Estate Investments practice through business development initiatives, including leading and supporting pitches, thought leadership and client relationship programmes.
- Supervising and developing junior lawyers and trainees, providing constructive feedback, supporting their technical and commercial development, and helping to build a cohesive, high performing team.
We are particularly interested in candidates that have extensive experience advising on structured real estate joint ventures, including both single asset joint ventures (development and investment) and also broader platform joint venture arrangements (including club deals and quasi fund investments).
At Addleshaw Goddard, we are committed to your ongoing development. As an associate in our REI team you will benefit from structured training, regular feedback and clear career development discussions, including progression towards partnership for those who aspire to it.
