WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE 

Supported with the appropriate training and guidance required, your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Delivering AI and legal tech transformation services to in-house legal teams.
  • Leading the delivery of varied client mandates, which may include:
  • Leading workshops to assess ways of working, gather technology requirements and map processes and shape strategy
  • Supporting technology selection and vendor decisions including market scans, options analysis, vendor demos, shortlisting and pilot support.
  • Providing AI implementation support, helping with use case identification, developing prompt libraries, playbooks and frameworks and acting as AI Lead for clients deploying platforms (such as Harvey, Legora, Wordsmith and other AI tools).
  • Providing legal tech implementation support, configuring and implementing technical solutions -. typically focused on areas like legal matter intake and triage, introducing business self-serve, contracting and case management
  • Support with end- to-end roll out of solutions and associated change management support
  • Providing insights, guidance and training on the latest legal tech and GenAI developments.
  • Undertaking continuous market scanning and feeding insights directly into client conversations and the team's collective knowledge.
  • Designing assessment tools, maturity models and benchmarking frameworks to measure and guide client progress.
  • Developing reusable workshop materials and training content for clients and internal teams.
  • Supporting, mentoring and training junior team members in legal tech and AI best practice, including supervising their work on client mandates and internal projects.
  • Engaging across the Firm to promote legal technology and innovation,  including attending internal and external meetings, proactively promoting Legal Tech Consulting services and identifying client opportunities.
  • Managing multiple projects and deadlines in line with client demand.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams including IT, Advanced Legal Solutions and Knowledge.

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • Relevant experience within a global law firm or professional consulting services environment (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of AI for legal and legal technology software market, including how different categories of tools support in-house teams.
  • Practical experience of AI enablement and acceleration programmes for legal including use case identification, developing and refining prompt libraries, optimisation, training and road mapping. Ideally familiar with AI platforms specific to the legal domain (i.e. Harvey, Legora, Wordsmith).
  • Strong LLM and technical literacy, including validating AI generated outputs against source material, understanding and managing risk areas such as hallucinations, confidentiality, privilege, bias etc.
  • Experience with broader legal technology solutions and workflow automation tooling (e.g. Power Automate, basic scripting, no code AI builders).
  • Experience analysing legal processes and user requirements and translating them into clear functional and non-functional requirements, technical configurations (logic, data fields, permissions) and solution designs.
  • Experience providing legal technology consulting services and advising on technology strategy, selection and implementation. Contributing to business cases and implementation plans for new solutions.
  • Flexible and proactive, able to coordinate multiple competing deadlines and work to tight timescales with a clear sense of urgency.
  • Experience analysing processes and user requirements and translating these into technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI and legal technology concepts in clear, practical language and to engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders, including General Counsel and other C suite leaders.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience supervising, coaching and training junior colleagues in legal technology and AI, including reviewing their work, providing structured feedback and helping build their capability and confidence.
  • An innovative approach, with creative thinking and openness to new ideas.
  •  A strong understanding of the challenges affecting law firms and in-house legal teams including the impact of GenAI and automation on operating models, resourcing and risk management.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward change.
